EMDRIA Summit Experiences are 60-minute experiential sessions that will focus on supporting the learning of attendees from a more hands-on approach.  They will invite attendees to participate in activities that could be included in their daily clinical practice. These Experiences will incorporate mindfulness, dancing, creative arts, and networking. They do not provide credits for Continuing Education.

Session E1: Clinical Dharma: Mindfulness for EMDR Clinicians

Stephen Dansiger, Psy.D., MFT

Mindfulness is one of the posited mechanisms of action of EMDR therapy. Mindfulness had a great impact on Dr. Shapiro before, during and after her "walk in the park." Mindfulness has an impact on EMDR therapy success from both directions: as a tool for the clinician for their own self-care and presence, and for our clients as they are guided through the 8 Phase protocol. This experience will include principles and an interactive practice of mindfulness for EMDR therapists and healers.

Session E2: Networking Experience

This Session aims to provide a space to create connections and cultivate community. Participants will engage in conversation to expand their professional circle and foster collaboration.

Session E4: Dancing Mindfulness: Journey of Gentle Awareness into Expressive Healing

Irene M. Rodriguez, M.S., LMHC, REAT

Dancing Mindfulness, a journey of gentle awareness without judgment, serves as whether a doorway to personal growth and balanced living. Its paths are diverse, just like its applications. Dancing Mindfulness embraces movement as a way to explore mindful awareness. By moving through seven core mindfulness aspects - breath, sound, body, story, mind, spirit, and fusion of all elements, with a mindful attitude, participants unlock their body’s healing potential and embrace their innate creativity, fostering healing and growth in a trauma-informed space. The practice was developed by Dr. Jamie Marich.
